PLC glossary
Preset
The target given to a timer or counter. It says how long to wait or how many events to count.

- A packing counter has a preset of three bottles before it stops the belt.

- PT is the timer duration; PV is the counter target.

- PRE is the timer or counter preset; timer values here are milliseconds.
