PLC glossary

SCADA

A site-wide system for watching equipment, readings and alarms. It can record history and let operators make control requests.

Also called: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
On site: A water-treatment control room watches several pump stations and their alarms on one system.
Siemens: WinCC systems can provide supervisory monitoring.
Rockwell: FactoryTalk View SE systems can provide supervisory monitoring.
