What the tests check

  1. A press of OpenPB opens fully; a press of ClosePB closes fully.
  2. StopPB stops the door at once and wins.
  3. ClosePB does nothing while the beam is blocked.
  4. A broken beam or a pressed safety edge while closing reverses the door to fully open.
  5. Each direction stops at its limit switch.
  6. Beacon is ON whenever the door moves; MotorUp and MotorDown are never ON together.
  1. Try it Use the buttons below the model and watch the rig respond.
  2. Test solution Every check runs on your code in one press.
  3. Replay If one fails, step through it one scan at a time to see why.
Why it matters

Where you’d see this on site

Loading bays use exactly this control. Forklift drivers press Close as they drive off, so the door has to look after anyone who follows.

A shutter closing onto a load can crush goods, damage the curtain or injure someone underneath. Doors that ignore their safety devices are a common cause of serious accidents.

Where you'd find thisNever close a door onto a forklift or a pallet

Warehouses, loading bays and fire stations all have powered roller shutters. Forklifts drive through them all day, so the control must stop and reopen the door the moment anything is in the way.

On a real site: places, parts and safety
  • Warehouse loading bays
  • Factory goods-in doors
  • Vehicle workshops and fire stations

Real powered doors are assessed against EN 12453 and use safety-rated devices, not just PLC logic.

Test the safety edge and photo-eye regularly: a door that ignores them can crush a person.

The sizes, timings and cutaways are teaching choices, not a drawing of any one real installation.
